What to Wear

What to wear for your family or portrait session:

“The secret to great style is to feel good in what you wear”….Ines de la Fressange

When getting ready for your family photo session, here are a few tips to consider when planning your family’s wardrobe:

  • Avoid bright colors & fluorescents, these colors do not photograph well and often cast colors on your skin

  • Avoid logos, writing, cartoon characters etc on clothing

  • I also suggest matching the family but not necessarily over-matching. You can choose a couple/few different colors to incorporate. Example: Navy, white with a pop of mustard yellow or pale pink etc.

  • Keep most of the family members in solid colors with maybe 1 - 2 prints/ patterns mixed in

  • You want to be comfortable during your shoot so wear something that looks great, flatters and is also comfortable. For women/ girls I love to see dresses, layers or items that flow and create texture

I will be happy to help you decide on outfit choices if you feel you need a bit of guidance
